English and Bengali / Hindi (as a Modern Indian Language) are Compulsory for General and Honours Degree Students.
No change of Subjects will normally be allowed after a lapse of one month after admission. Change of subjects will also not be permitted as a
matter of course.
Admission commences immediately after the publication of the results of the relevant examination of the West Bengal Higher Secondary Council. All applications for admission are to be made in the Prescribed Forms available from the College Office as well as from the website. The Admission Forms, duly completed, should be submitted to the College Office with the following documents :
Mark sheet of the Last Examination (One Xerox Copy)
Admit Card of Secondary Examination (One Xerox Copy)
One recent stamp size photograph
One Xerox Copy of S.C./S.T. Certificate (for S.C./S.T. Students) from appropriate authorities.
A letter from the legal guardian appointing a local guardian when the student does not live with the legal guardian.
Incomplete application forms not complying with the instructions are liable to be rejected.
After all the applications have been received (within the specified dates) the College will publish its merit list of eligible candidates who may then be entitled to admission in different courses. Original documents must be shown at the time of admission. All such admission will be treated as provisional, pending approval of the University.
Printable two copies of the Acknowledgement slips (one college - copy and one student -copy) will be generated after submission. The aforesaid acknowledgement slips are to be printed by the candidate.
The candidate has to submit the college - copy at the college cash counter and the other copy (with college seal) is to be retained by the candidate.
Admission date will be notified in the website of the college: www.bangabasi.org, in due time.
Separate dates for admission to B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com (General) courses will be notified in due time in the college website.
Admission in General streams will be based purely on first come — first served basis (till the seats are available) on and from the date, to be declared by the college authority and notified in the college website.
At the time of admission, verification of original (10 + 2) standard Mark sheet, would be done at the College.
The candidates should bring one photocopy of (10+2) standard Mark sheet, along with original mark sheet & original sealed acknowledgement slip retained by the student at the time of admission.
After getting the Admit order, the candidates will have to deposit the fees at the cash counter of the College showing the student - copy of acknowledgement slip on the same day; otherwise his/her eligibility for admission will liable to be cancelled. The system will generate unique ID No. & Roll No. of the student.
Honours Stream
Online form submission from college website : www.barwbasi.org. For different subjects (in honours) separate forms have to be used and submitted.

Admission Rules for SC/ST Candidates (As per CU Norms) (2013-2014)
There shall be a reserved quota of 22% and 6% for SC & ST candidates respectively in each subjects (Honours) and courses.
If adequate numbers of ST candidates are not available, seats should be filled up by SC candidates and vice versa.
Candidates, belonging to SC or ST Community, must have obtained a minimum of 40% in aggregate or 40% in subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination for taking up Honours Course.
Any SC or ST candidate getting admission should have qualifying marks in the previous qualifying examination which are not lower than 25% from the marks obtained by the last candidate of the General Category.
The candidates included in the General Merit List should not be counted towards reserved seats.
For Physically Challenged candidates 3% seats would be kept as reserved.
For OBC candidates, the reservation would follow the Govt. order as and when available.
Student fund :
Stndt. Asso. Fee(100) + Magazine(20) + Sports(60) + Annual Social fee(140) + Aid fund(20) + Health Home(10) = 350/-
N.B. : Additional Rs. 450/- to be paid for ‘Course on PC Application’ by B.A. (Hons. & General), B.Sc. (Bio
Science & Physical Science without Computer Science) students. The student who want to avail diploma
course in PC fundamental and Financial account have to pay Rs. 650/-. One of these two courses is compulsory
for the said group of students.
